I am so very excited to share this wedding with everyone. Caiti was actually one of the first clients ever to hire me for an event, and from the moment we first chatted, I knew that this girl was going to have the details down. The wedding day lived up to everything I thought it was going to be, with impeccably stylish details all designed by Caiti, an intimate, real gathering of friends and family, and a laid-back, DIY attitude that completely matched the couple. I’m very into how the vibe of events and couples “feel” to me, and it’s always so wonderful to attend those where the wedding feels entirely like the couple, as it did with Mark and Caiti. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake, a great little venue for smaller events.

All of Caiti’s girl had such a relaxed vibe and each were given a red scarf to accessorize with as desired.

SO many fabulous details. Again, all designed and made by Caiti and Mark. The favour was a little vial of Mark’s family’s BBQ rub. In the bottom right, you can see a box that Mark and Caiti had on their dinner table. Rather than kissing when people clinked glasses, Mark and Caiti asked people to donate to the Humane Society to request a kiss (probably one of the greatest ideas I’ve ever seen at a wedding.)

First look was fabulous…

In my top three favourite wedding photos ever?

Mark and Caiti walked down the aisle together, which I thought was such a great, non-traditional way of doing things.

Very emotional, touching ceremony…

They served Mexican sodas that matched the colour scheme perfectly.

Tapas!
