Julie and Mat were married the first weekend of this month, and kicked off my Chicago wedding season. You may remember them from their fun and spirited session in DUMBO, NYC, earlier this spring. They are such a joy-filled couple, and it was so wonderful to hear them and their family and friends talk about how much love and happiness they have brought to one another. I cannot think of a nicer, more humble couple, and I am so thrilled to have been allowed to share in their day. Mat was thoughtful and handsome as ever, and Julie was positively radiant all day (lots of julie-centered coverage below–she was just so stunning!). I could blog for days about this couple, and could have shared three times the images. I was a bit nervous before this wedding, as it was the start of the season, but I am so thrilled with my photographs from the day (particularly love the portraits–scroll down). I hope you enjoy them too, Mat and Julie, and had a wonderful time in South Africa!

Mat has always been a piano player, and surprised Julie during the ceremony by accompanying a soloist during one of the songs. It was ironic, given that Julie also had the same surprise up her sleeve for Mat and the reception.

Favourite.

Frank (my lovely second photographer), JoJo (the best groomsman, brother and emcee a bride could have) and I, looking a little disheveled (but happy!) on hour 11.
