Anjali and Tristan were married just about two weeks ago on a very lucky day: 09/09/09 (at 9 a.m., no less). It was also Anjali’s birthday, so it was quite the day for celebration. They had a very small, intimate and personal ceremony, with just their immediate family and two close friends. Anjali and Tristan are both deeply rooted in the theatre scene here in Chicago, so the ticket lobby of the Oriental Theatre made for a natural choice to seal their vows. Following the quick ceremony, we basically did a connection session downtown, visiting many of Chicago’s popular sights before they were whisked off for a celebratory dimsum lunch in Chinatown before their wedding dinner. We also were able to take a few photos in the STUNNING Oriental, but unfortunately I can’t show them due to copyright rules at the theater. So sad, but trust they are beautiful given the stunning opulence of that theater’s architecture. This was obviously a much smaller and casual wedding than most of what I shoot, but a few little weekday ones like this and Kelly + Garrett’s in SF are a great way to keep balanced throughout the season. While I, of course, love the regal and ultra-chic events with perfect lighting and details galore, these relaxed weddings are a wonderful reminder of the relationship and love that all of the wedding details surround on the day.
