Katie + Cherian :: A wedding at The Drake

It is obvious the height of fall wedding season, as evidenced by my rather embarassing absence from blogging! I have so much to share; several weddings and sessions, and given that it’s been a while since a full wedding, I decided to make today’s post extra large, which wasn’t hard given how amazing Katie and Cherian’s wedding was. Katie and Cherian are just the best couple who currently live in DC, but met when Katie moved to Chicago to go to architecture school. They had a grand celebration with guests coming from all over the world to celebrate with them, and had a gorgeous ceremony at Saint Vincent’s in Lincoln Park, and a stunning reception in the Gold Coast room at the Drake. I remember coming up to the Drake at Christmastime with my family growing up, and it was wonderful to finally be able to shoot at this landmark. Everything on this day was just phenomenal—the couple are THE nicest people—so fun and friendly and down to earth, with the absolute kindest and most welcoming family, and they somehow also managed to have the most cooperative, fun and thoughtful wedding party. Renny from Bliss Wedding and Events also pulled together the most dynamite team of wedding vendors, and all in all, it was one of my favourite weddings ever. Thank you so much to everyone who worked to make the day come together, and also to all the wonderful family and guests that made this day such a pleasure to shoot!
