A few weeks ago, I jetted off to Philly on a Wednesday to meet up with Chris and Mac and for a Philadelphia engagement session in the city where they met, fell in love, and where they still live and work. If a couple lives somewhere other than where they’ll be married, I always love to do the session in that town if at all possible. I know many of my clients have so few nice (if any!) photos of themselves, and having some images that capture where they spent so many years can easily become something they will value years from now. I was actually born in Pennsylvania and went to Philly when I was a wee babe, but this was my first time being in the city with any ability to remember it! I don’t know what I was expecting—maybe something a bit more New England-y in style—but Philadelphia was full of surprises for me. I actually found it a great place to shoot, full of many interesting backgrounds, layers, and a great mix of quaint neighborhood-y spots and very urban/industrial backdrops. Chris and Mac did such a great job in picking out some general locations for us to explore, and I had such a wonderful time with them, spending several hours traipsing around the city and finishing everything off with a reward of some delicious craft beers at one of their favorite little gastro-pubs in Northern Liberties. These two are a delight together and a delight to spend time with, and I cannot wait for their wedding next May at one of my favorite venues, the Chicago Cultural Center. Thanks again for having me out to Philly!
