Earlier this spring, I took a whirlwind 24-hour trip to NYC to shoot Roksy and Jon’s destination engagement session. I think we finalized the specifics of the shoot a week before, I flew out the day after a wedding, and due to the impending rain that was forecasted, went straight from the plane to their apartment in TriBeCa to start the shoot. Despite heavy overcast clouds, we were able to fit in the shoot and get some beautiful images in the process. It was actually really lovely as the normally packed Central Park—where they were engaged—was pretty empty and we were able to create some of these beautiful environmental portraits. Just as we were finishing up (coincidentally right when we had been scheduled to *start* shooting), the skies opened up with a deluge of rain, encouraging a retreat to an adorable hole in the wall restaurant and bar in their neighborhood. I had such a wonderful time and can’t wait for their wedding this summer at Rockefeller Chapel and the Trump Hotel!
Also as a general note, I will most likely be out in NYC twice more this year – if you are ever interested in a shoot in NYC it is basically my second home at this point, with several trips out there each year.
