I’m Olivia Leigh, a (mostly) one-person operation located in one of the best cities in the world, Chicago. That said, I am incredibly lucky to have met amazing couples from around the world that allow me to document their relationship and their weddings.
In college, I studied political science and Spanish, with illustrious dreams of working in politics or at an NGO. After studying in four countries around the world (Guadalajara is the best; you ought to visit) and internships on the Hill and for a think tank, I quickly learned politics was not for me and my painfully idealistic soul.
In 2007 a friend asked me to shoot her wedding, and that was that.
I believe you deserve something better than just some “nice pictures” on your wedding day and work very hard to delve deeper into the nuances of your relationship and discover the essence of who you are. This is very artsy/hippie-type of way of saying that my goal is always to visually articulate who you are, and what the spirit of your day was. Whether that is quiet, emotional, shy and thoughtful, or vibrant, loud, spirited and fun, I want your photos to showcase the truth of you and your day.
I absolutely love what I do and have been so lucky to find the absolute kindest, nicest couples in the world. My clients tend to universally be focused on creative elegant, chic weddings that are still relaxed and comfortable, focusing on their own relationship as well as the importance of their friends and families.
If you like my photos and like what I say above, chances are, we are a great match. Email me; tell me about your wedding, your relationship, your vision for the day, and maybe a little about yourselves and what you like.
Need an icebreaker? Here are some things I like: Mad Men, Sonoma/Napa, The Bristol, 31st street beach, fresh out-of-the-oven granola, Wusthof knives, the xx, Fleetwood Mac, Southern charm, karaoke, red wine, red hair, red lipstick, a great red dress (notice a theme?).
Can’t wait to tell your story.
