University Club Chicago Wedding Photos :: Janella + Vince

When I met Janella and Vince this winter, I instantly knew I wanted to shoot their wedding. Our personalities just hit it off, and our shared penchants for bluntness and sarcasm made for such a great relationship during the lead-up to the wedding. They became one of my favourite clients of the year, and I was happy to learn I was one of their favourite vendors. They are both so fun and thoughtful, and always laughing and smiling. One of my favourite parts of the wedding is the toasts. The speeches always reveal so much about how others see the couple (often how I also learn to see them) and they also give great insight into where some of the bride or groom’s traits come from. In the case of Janella and Vince, their senses of humour can obviously be chalked up to their families—funniest toasts ever! (Big kudos to Janella’s dad who I think gave the funniest toast many people in the room had ever heard. Highlight using an often-used piece of relationship advice: “I have some advice for you… Never go to bed angry. ... Be a man; stay up and fight.”) They had a beautiful and emotional ceremony in Glenview followed by a gorgeous reception at the University Club overlooking the lake and Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago, a venue that is such a unique treasure for Chicago. Thank you SO MUCH Janella and Vince for letting me share in your wedding and just for letting me get to you know.
