Mike + Ambar

I met Ambar at last year’s Indie Wed event (which we are so excited to be a part of again this winter!), and was immediately excited about her gregarious and charming energy. A few months after the show, I was able to meet with her and her great fiance, Mike, at my studio to chat more about their plans. We had the perfect sort of consultation—one where conversation just flows, it goes on longer that it is “supposed to,” and we end up talking a lot more about life than details of the wedding. These two are both such incredibly kind and just *bright* people, for lack of a better word. They have a certain radiance and *snap* together—very fun, happy, electric. Doesn’t hurt that Ambar also has a world-class smile (people were stopping us to tell her how beautiful it was!). I cannot wait for their wedding at Architectural Artifacts next spring!

Erica + Tom

Erica and Tom are a great couple who are having a winter wedding at one of my favourite venues, the Modern Wing. They recently purchased a new home just a few blocks away from me (of course we have already run into each other at my favourite wine bar!), so for their shoot we decided to explore their neighborhood a bit. Despite being only a few blocks from me, their home is nestled in a very quiet and unique area that I had never really spent time in. We found so many great little nooks and crannies that made for fantastic photos. We also went over to the water at the end of the shoot, for a few final images at sunset. I say we get sunsets like this maybe 10 days out of the year in Chicago—the light was just so incredible, warm and magical and made for one of my favourite sessions in recent memory!

Suzanne + Matt

Suzanne and Matt met in Oklahoma over a decade ago, now live in Chicago, and are having a huge celebration in Southern California this fall. Before jetting off for sunny LA they wanted to do some pictures here to capture the city they spend their time in. Suzanne and one of my favourite past clients, Julie, went to school together and are great friends, so I was so excited to meet them on the day of shoot. They did not disappoint! Such great energy and I think Suzanne is just so gorgeous—what a smile. :) Congratulations to both of you! Have a marvelous wedding!

Nick + Rebecca

The weather in Chicago has been so rough this year that I think we rescheduled Nick and Rebecca’s shoot four times before we were able to find a day without thunderstorms. However, our patience paid off as we ended up with such a beautiful day for their shoot. Nick and Rebecca are such a great couple—fun, relaxed, and full of great taste in style, music and food! We did a very urban session for them, and the colors of the backdrops along with their perfectly styled clothes made for such a great set of images. I cannot wait for their wedding coming up later this month at Architectural Artifacts!
